We just returned from our visit to the AMGEN Tour of California. It was an incredible experience, and one I know I will never forget. To stand at the top of the Coleman Valley climb, little more than a one-lane goat trail on the side of a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and watch my favorite rider, Ivan Basso, lead Team Discovery and the rest of the peloton up the climb, was one of my life's most exciting moments. It was a lot of effort for a few seconds of excitement, but it was worth it. I took this picture of Basso as he rode by our viewing spot. I'm sure I'll have more to say later.

I know what you mean!!! Ivan Basso was the reason why I follow pro cycling. He's my favorite since he won at la mongie in the 2004 tour de france.
I was in Long Beach for the final stage of the touf of california last Sunday. Ivan and the Discovery gang rode by me 10+ times. It felt so surreal... better than a dream! :)
Best luck to Ivan. I look forward to his best season ever this year!
