The Double-O-Higgins
You can't read my blog without hearing about "the boat." I'm aboard now -- it's our houseboat at Canyon Lake. It's a good part of my training; at least once a week, I spend the night here and basically do .... nothing. It's good to do nothing on a regular basis.
View of Canyon Lake from the front porchToday, the sun peeked out, dried the roads and brought the temp up to about 72 degrees. It was a nice day to ride and my partner, Danny, and I rode down River Road (the 13 prettiest miles in Texas). Danny has also been battling an upper respiratory infection, so it was an easy pace today. Nice just to get out and spin for a while.
I was unusually tired and lethargic on the bike. It's just hard to regain that lost fitness. I think the spin class also took more out of me than I thought. At any rate, tomorrow Claire has some business in Austin, so I probably can give my legs a recovery day. Ugh - that means a core workout is on the menu. Boo.
