It's not a dry heat, but it's been plenty hot here in Texas. When I started riding near Randolph AFB, my EGT guage read 41 degrees C (105 degrees Farenheit). Even though things had cooled when I neared Marion, TX, I still suffered some sort of heat malady. Luckily for me, I was able to duck into a Valero Heat Treatment Center and they had a couple of heat malady antitdotes (2 for $1).
I have been trying to ride during the hottest parts of the day here to acclimate myself to riding in the heat which we'll experience during the Race Across the West. I feel good, and I'm ready to go right now. Only a few more days!
